Pop Stars Akon, Hudson Roll Out Quincy Jones Tribute Tracks
Get ready to hear Akon's version of "Strawberry Letter 23." The singer says he just had to do it for an upcoming Quincy Jones tribute album called "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra." Akon says, quote, "When Quincy called and told me about this album, I said you have to let me do 'Strawberry Letter 23' and the funny thing is that's the song he was thinking about already." Singer Jennifer Hudson also features on "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra," and says Jones is, quote, "a true artist, genius, and professional." Her song on the album will be a cover of Rod Temperton's "You Put A Move On My Heart" from the 1996 Jones album, "Q's Jook Joint." Other artists featured on the new Jones tribute album include Jamie Foxx, John Legend, Mary J. Blige, and Wyclef Jean. The album, "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra," is expected to be released sometime in either May or June. |
