Ex-"Idol" Producer Says Sir Elton Would Make A Great Judge
Former "American Idol" producer Nigel Lythgoe is talking about the big star that he thinks could fill departing judge Simon Cowell's shoes. Lythgoe told "The Hollywood Reporter's" Showbiz 411 blog he believes Sir Elton John is up to the task. Lythgoe said of the "Rocket Man," quote, "He's absolutely it." The 60-year-old Lythgoe was a producer on "Pop Idol" in the UK prior to the talent show's jump across the pond to U.S. network FOX. Lythgoe left "American Idol" after its seventh season. Cowell, meanwhile, announced earlier this year that this season -- the show's ninth -- will be his last.
In related news, Sir Elton is staying busy. He's just announced new concert dates in the Midwest this April.
Here is the list of Midwestern concert dates that Sir Elton John and his band will play this April:
April 17 - Resch Center, Green Bay, Wisconsin
April 24 - Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids, Michigan
April 25 - Lucas County Arena, Toledo, Ohio. |
