Preston Says Friendship With Cyrus Brought Her Back To Work
Actress Kelly Preston is crediting Miley Cyrus for her latest acting role. Preston stars in the new film "The Last Song" which stars the teen star. She tells People.com that the role was her first job after losing her son, Jett, in January 2009. She returned to work six months after his death because, quote, "Miley asked me herself to play her mom. I was really moved. It was the perfect movie to sort of get my feet wet." When Preston arrived on set to work, she says Cyrus "took such great care" of her and everyone on set was considerate of her time. Of Cyrus, she says, quote, "We've been friends for a while. We got even closer on this movie so it was cool to spend the summer with people you really like."
