Auf Der Maur Expressing "Creative Survivalism" With New CD
Melissa Auf Der Maur returns next month in a big way, launching the music portion of the "Out Of Our Minds" multi-media project. In addition to an album, Auf Der Maur is tying a comic book and a film into the overall theme. The rocker cites, quote, "survivalism and the 21st century" as her motivation for the ambitious project, noting that she's just tapping into her different artistic skills.
Auf Der Maur says "Out Of Our Minds" began with the music. She explains that after she wrote a song she went to filmmakers to discuss the possibilities of crafting a movie version of the track, and talked to comic book writers about taking the song into that medium. The rocker adds, quote, "Within that I realized that all I was trying to do was protect my survival abilities." Auf Der Maur's "Out Of Our Minds" is due April 6th. |
