Hall Of Famer Iggy Pop: I Felt Like Charlie Brown
Backstage at the 25th Annual Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Awards, Iggy Pop divulged that The Stooges' road to an induction had disappointments. The 62-year-old said that waiting to hear if the band had earned Hall of Fame status sometimes made him feel like Charlie Brown when he attempted to kick a football in the Peanuts' cartoon strips.
The wait appears to have paid off. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation inducted The Stooges in a ceremony at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel on Monday. Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong introduced the Midwestern rockers, citing them as a key influence over pop culture. |
