Joe Nichols Weighs In On Current Single, Broadway
Joe Nichols says he's glad he recorded "Gimmie That Girl," which is his latest single. The singer explains that he likes the song's strong hook, and he thinks the lyrics are very true to life.
"Gimmie That Girl" is from Nichols' latest CD, "Old Things New." It's his highest-charting single since 2006's "I'll Wait For You." But while things are progressing for him musically, his proposed jump to the Broadway stage seems to have stalled. Nichols was tapped for the lead role in the musical adaptation of the 1992 film "Pure Country." Nichols notes the theatrical project continues to be delayed, and he's not sure if, or when, it'll open. But while the country star admits he'd like to tackle a Broadway show he says he won't be brokenhearted if the production never comes to be, because his top priority remains his singing career. |
