New Jersey Writer Says E-Street Deserves Rock Hall Induction
With the induction ceremony for the 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the rear view mirror, a New Jersey writer is making his case for a band from the Garden State. "The New Jersey Star-Ledger's" Jay Lustig wants The E-Street Band to get its due as soon as possible. The rockers who back up Jersey's own -- Bruce Springsteen -- aren't technically eligible until 2012. That marks 25 years from the date that the band was first listed on an album. Springsteen is already a Hall of Famer. The "Boss" earned his honor in 1999.
Many members of The E-Street Band are stars in their own right. Sax player Clarence Clemons, drummer Max Weinberg, and guitarist Steven Van Zandt have all attained celeb status. Van Zandt starred on "The Sopranos" and was at this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony presenting The Hollies. |
