Train Frontman Singing On Santana's Covers Disc
While Train's Pat Monahan is busy with his band's comeback efforts, the singer notes he's had time to help out a veteran rocker. He says he's among those lending a voice to Santana's upcoming CD, which is a collection of cover songs.
Matchbox Twenty's Rob Thomas -- who helped put Santana back on the musical map with the GRAMMY-winning 1999 hit "Smooth" -- is also on board for the project. Details, such as the album's release date, have yet to be revealed.
Monahan is currently on the road with Train. The group is promoting their latest CD, "Save Me, San Francisco," which features the hit "Hey, Soul Sister." The band will be performing in Westbury, New York on Friday night. Train's upcoming stops include Concord, New Hampshire on Saturday and Poughkeepsie, New York on Sunday. |
