Gretchen Wilson Supporting The Troops By Wearing Combat Boots
Gretchen Wilson is wearing her patriotism on her feet. The singer is among the country stars participating in The Boot Campaign's poster series. The Boot Campaign is using the images of celebrities, photographed wearing combat boots, to help raise money and awareness for U.S. troops returning home following a tour of duty in a combat zone. Wilson's poster, which is up for viewing on her website, shows her perched atop a four-wheeler with a guitar, both feet -- clad in combat boots -- clearly visible. The poster also includes The Boot Campaign motto, "When They Come Back...We Give Back." Joe Nichols, Heidi Newfield, and Randy Houser are also participating in the initiative. Money is generated from the sales of combat boots, which are available online at BootCampaign.com, and is going to the USO and the Lone Survivor Foundation. The Boot Campaign began last year as a grassroots effort started by five Texas women. The campaign is launching nationally on Friday. |
