Avenged Sevenfold Staying In The Moment
The members of Avenged Sevenfold have been living in the moment since the death of drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan late last year. The musician was a driving force in the early stages of the band's new album, "Nightmare," and his passing has left the band unsure of their future. They called upon Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy, The Rev's favorite drummer, to fill in on both their album and upcoming tour dates, but singer M. Shadows tells Billboard.com he's not sure what will follow for the group. He explains, quote, "Our goal right now is to just get kids to hear the record, because we want them to remember The Rev." Shadows adds that it's a disc that remains true to the band's metal roots. Avenged Sevenfold's "Nightmare" arrives in stores today.
Avenged Sevenfold will support "Nightmare" as a headliner on the Uproar Festival. The trek will also feature Disturbed, Stone Sour, and Halestorm on the Main Stage, while Hellyeah is leading the Second Stage lineup. The tour will begin in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 17th. |
