Cage The Elephant Singer Won't Be Caged
Cage The Elephant is one of the more engaging rock bands when it comes to their live set, and that sometimes comes with consequences. Guitarist Lincoln Parish says singer Matt Shultz has developed a reputation for leaping out into the crowd. He says it's something he now takes in stride.
Shultz notes he loves to be spontaneous on stage, but admits his up-close interactions with the audience haven't always gone smoothly. He says he hasn't suffered too many injuries, explaining, quote, "I've gotten stitches, broken the fourth metatarsal in my foot, and that's about it." Cage The Elephant is still promoting its first album, and will return to the road later this month. The band will launch their next series of dates with an appearance at the Osheaga Music & Arts Festival in Montreal on July 31st. |
