Gwyneth Paltrow Releases Country Single
Tim McGraw and Vince Gill are among the country stars supporting Gwyneth Paltrow as a country singer. The actress has released the single "Country Strong," the title song from her upcoming film also starring McGraw. Through the movie project Paltrow got the chance to sing with Gill, McGraw, and other country artists. She says she discovered that she really enjoys performing -- and just might turn up at a Nashville club. Paltrow admits, however, that she prefers collaborating over being in the spotlight.
Paltrow notes she didn't know how to play guitar before she started working on the movie. She says she began learning the instrument just four months before filming began, and, quote, "of course the first day of shooting I had to sing live and play in the movie -- it was so terrifying." Paltrow's "Country Strong" is the lead-off single from the film's soundtrack, which is slated for release on October 26th. The movie "Country Strong" will hit theaters on December 22nd.
In "Country Strong" Paltrow plays the part of Kelly Canter, a one-time country star who's trying to revive her career with help from her husband and manager, portrayed by McGraw, and an up-and-coming country singer she meets in rehab. But when the three of them go on tour with another young female star, the romantic liaisons and temptations become intertwined. |
