Elvis Presley's White Grand Piano, More Memorabilia Up For Auction
Fans of rock n' roll's late, great "King" will get another chance to bid on his possessions next month. Elvis Presley's white grand piano is going to the blocks in Memphis on August 14th, with auctioneers anticipating a selling price north of one-million dollars. Two-hundred-70 lots of Presley memorabilia will be offered. Other items for sale include Elvis' 1955 RCA Records contract and the original purchase agreement for Graceland, his fabled Tennessee mansion. Heritage Auctions is handling the event.
In related news, Chicago's Hindman Auctioneers reportedly lost a few Elvis items due to concerns about authenticity. These lots included autopsy tools allegedly used to prepare Presley's body after his 1977 death. The removed items included forceps, rubber gloves, lip brushes, aneurysm hooks, a comb, needle injectors, eye liner, and a toe tag. |
