Ten Years Stick To Their Guns With "Shoot It Out"
Ten Years are touting "Feeding The Wolves" as the record they always wanted to make, and the heavier, more aggressive nature works well for the band. The lead single "Shoot It Out" is climbing the charts and it's a song the group members are all backing. Drummer Brian Vodinh tells "Rock And Roll Report" that it, quote, "came together incredibly quick and was the result of pure frustration about the industry that we are trying to survive in. People like us get into music because we love creating and performing. After the passion turns professional and you have mouths to feed and mortgage payments to make, all of a sudden things become a little different." Vodinh says the track is about the pressure they feel in the music industry and having outside people looking over their shoulders trying to inject their opinions. Since "Shoot It Out" unified the band in its vision, it's an appropriate lead single. Vodinh says, quote, "This song was chosen as the first single from our new album because the band believed in the song and fought tooth and nail to make this our first single. We have had a history of being unhappy with our single selection, so this time around we made up our minds and said this has to be it. Luckily, other people also agreed." Ten Years' "Feeding The Wolves" will be released August 31st. The band is previewing their new material on the "Carnival Of Madness" tour. The next stop on the trek, which also features Shinedown, Chevelle, Puddle Of Mudd, and Sevendust, will be in Columbia, Maryland on Wednesday.
