Sir Elton John Won't Do "American Idol"
Talk of Sir Elton John joining "American Idol" as a regular judge is getting a short run through the rumor mill. Deadline.com reports that the "Rocket Man" won't appear on the FOX hit, nor will pop superstar Justin Timberlake. Both artists reportedly were on the short list of replacements for Simon Cowell, who exited the show after its nine season. John's rep pulled no punches in shooting down the "American Idol" rumor. UK publicist Gary Farrow says, quote, "It's absolute rubbish. This story's three months old...Elton's got commitments right up until next year. As we stand at the moment, Elton has no plans to do that show."
What Sir Elton is doing is hitting the road again next month. The rocker is playing five consecutive nights at the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, Monaco beginning next Monday, August 2nd. |
