Queensryche Cabaret On The Road, To Be Filmed For DVD
Queensryche is giving fans a new way to enjoy its music live. "The Las Vegas Review-Journal" reports that the hard rockers have fused their material with a Cirque de Soleil-style presentation. Called "Queensryche Cabaret," the act has Queensryche sharing a stage with ballerinas, go-go dancers, jugglers, and contortionists. Lead singer Geoff Tate says that there's just as much "spectacle" to take in from the stage. The 51-year-old rocker comments that "Queensryche Cabaret" audiences typically are decked in tuxedos and formal gowns. Tate adds, quote, "It's kind of like if you took the 'Moulin Rouge' movie and mixed it up with 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show,' and added heavy metal and a giant mouse. You've gotta be really dedicated to wear a giant mouse costume." For fans who can't catch the act live, Queensryche is creating a DVD of the show which is due soon. The band's also got an album in the the works, slated for release in 2011. For more information about the Cabaret, visit www.queensryche.com.
