Diana Krall, Sister To Be Honored This Fall
Diana Krall is picking up a philanthropic honor in Greenwich, Connecticut this fall. The jazz crooner and her sister, Michelle Wigmore, are receiving the Spirit of Hope Award from the MMRF or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation this October 30th. Krall's mother died of Myeloma -- an incurable blood cancer -- in 2002. Krall -- who's married to rocker Elvis Costello -- sits on the MMRF's honorary Board of Directors. She'll perform at the fundraising gala, as will Paul Simon. Regarding the Spirit of Hope honor, Krall said, quote, "It is our hope that, by continuing to raise awareness and research funds through events like this, we can play a role in helping the MMRF bring patients treatments that will extend their lives and give them more precious times with their families."
