Justin Timberlake, Elton John Won't Do "American Idol"
Singer Justin Timberlake won't be bringing "Sexy Back" to "American Idol." Deadline.com reports that Elton John won't be appearing on the Fox show either. Both musicians were reportedly on the short list of possible replacements for former judge Simon Cowell, but their representatives say they won't be appearing on the show. Timberlake's spokesperson says rumors of him being attached to season ten of "Idol" are silly because the singer-turned-actor doesn't have enough time to do the twice-weekly show. Elton John's rep pulled no punches as he shot down rumors. UK publicist Gary Farrow says, quote, "It's absolute rubbish. This story's three months old...Elton's got commitments right up until next year. As we stand at the moment, Elton has no plans to do that show."
Justin Timberlake has reportedly been offered the lead role in director Andrew Niccols' "I'm Mortal." He also has roles in the upcoming films "The Social Network," "Friends with Benefits" and "Bad Teacher" -- which also stars his ex-girlfriend Cameron Diaz. |
