Singer Rihanna Lands Acting Role In "Battleship" Movie
Rihanna has landed an acting role in the movie "Battleship." According to EOnline.com, the film will mark the singer's feature film debut in a flick based on the famous Hasbro game of the same name. Rihanna's co-stars will include "True Blood" actor Alexander Skarsgard and Taylor Kitsch of "Friday Night Lights." "Battleship's" plot will center around two brothers who must lead the planet in a battle for survival against a deadly force. Director Peter Berg will guide "Battleship" toward a May 25th, 2012 release.
While Rihanna is known more for her singing than acting, the vocalist is an Emmy nominee. Her "Saturday Night Live" skit with Andy Samberg titled "Shy Ronnie" is nominated for an Emmy in the Outstanding Music and Lyrics category. The Primetime Emmys are set to air live on NBC on August 29th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern. |
