Slash: Kennedy For Tour, But Not Velvet Revolver
Myles Kennedy remains a hot commodity for rockers, but the vocalist is happy and settled fronting Alter Bridge. While the rest of his bandmates are spending the summer as part of the Creed reunion, he's been fronting Slash's touring band. Slash tells Noisecreep.com, quote, "He's been great. He's got a great voice. He's one of the most fantastic rock singers and he's a great guy. It's a lot of fun to tour with him. The band sounds amazing." When asked if Slash could lure Kennedy to front Velvet Revolver, the guitarist says, quote, "He's already got a band, Alter Bridge, and he's not leaving. We offered him to sing in Velvet a year ago, but he turned it down then. So we're still looking for a singer."
As for Velvet Revolver, Slash says the band hasn't, quote, "found the right guy yet," but they are continuing to listen to demos from different singers. However, the group has written a bunch of material that they will record whenever a singer is chosen. He adds, quote, "It's really heavy stuff and I think it could be the best Velvet Revolver album yet." |
