Los Lobos Reconsiders Arizona Boycott After Judge's Ruling
Los Lobos member Steve Berlin says his band is reconsidering their boycott of Arizona. The musician says the band may change its tune after U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled to block parts of the state's controversial immigration law on Wednesday. Berlin says Los Lobos is actively taking a look at their next step.
Berlin says the band will be working on coming up with an appropriate response to the new development in the fight against SB1070. They had previously canceled a June 10th concert date that was supposed to have taken place in Arizona. Los Lobos is one of many bands who have announced a formal boycott of Arizona in the wake of the controversial immigration law, which goes into effect on Thursday. Also refusing to bring their tours through the state are artists such as Maroon 5, Cypress Hill, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Joe Satriani, Serj Tankian, Kanye West, Ozomatli, Rise Against, Sonic Youth, and Tenacious D.
Los Lobos is releasing a new record next Tuesday titled "Tin Can Trust," and has tour dates scheduled across North America through October. |
