Lanois Gets In Touch With His Inner "Lunatic" On Young Album
Neil Young's new album reportedly has a "lunar" influence. RollingStone.com reports that Young's project with prolific producer Daniel Lanois was recorded during the peak of full moons, as is the rocker's tradition. Lanois says the album's sound is heavily electric with a few acoustic offerings. The producer notes, quote, "There's no band, but I got in there with my sonics. There's nothing else out there like it." It's the first time that Lanois has collaborated with Young. He's produced for U2, The Band's Robbie Robertson, and other rock veterans.
There's no title for the upcoming LP yet, but Young is previewing eight tracks from the project during live performances. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer is currently on his "Twisted Road" tour, which will wind into Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis, Minnesota tonight. |
