Ron Wood To Launch Art Exhibit In Youngstown, Ohio
The Rolling Stones' Ron Wood is showcasing another side of his artistry. RollingStone.com reports that the guitarist's art work will be part of a museum show at the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio this fall. Over 60 original pieces by Wood will be on display beginning September 21st. Called "Ronnie Wood: Paintings, Drawings, and Prints," the exhibit will run for eight weeks. Among the works on display at the upcoming showcase is a series called "Paint It Black." The prints feature Rolling Stones-related subject matter, including a portrait of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
Wood's experience as an artist dates back to his pre-Stones days as a boy. The rocker isn't the first music legend to dabble in art. Bob Dylan, Grace Slick, Tony Bennett, and others have also expressed themselves in a visual medium and have showcased their work. |
