Michael Jackson Associate Working On Tour Film
A former associate of the late Michael Jackson is trying to bring the music icon back to the big screen. TMZ.com is reporting that a man named Ron Newt is shopping a full-length movie that will feature never-before-seen concert footage from Jackson's 1981 Triumph Tour. Newt claims he was so close with the King of Pop that the singer decided to give him the tour's unseen footage. After seeing last year's "This Is It," Newt says he was inspired to put together a movie of his own. The 64-minute film will reportedly feature candid moments with Jackson and his brothers, as well as footage of Jackson singing, dancing, and directing the stage production. Newt says he's received several proposals for his film, with offers climbing into seven figures. "This Is It" documented Michael Jackson's preparation for his "This Is It" concert series at London's O2 Arena. The film arrived last October 28th in a limited two-week release, but was extended in theaters due to its incredible popularity. "This Is It" has since grossed more than 260-million dollars. Jackson died on June 25, 2009, just weeks before the concert was scheduled to launch. Yesterday marked what would have been the pop star's 52nd birthday.
