2003 - Michael Jackson attended a birthday party in his honor at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.
2004 - Matchbox Twenty lead singer Rob Thomas took part in a salute to Carlos Santana at the 2004 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year concert. Thomas sang with Carlos on the 1999 hit "Smooth." Dave Matthews, the Black Eyed Peas and former Menudo member Robi Rosa also participated in the Los Angeles event.
2006 - Mariah Carey score two trophies at BMI's Urban Awards. Her song "We Belong Together" was named Song of the Year, and Mariah shared the Songwriter of the Year award with rapper Trick Daddy and R&B group Pretty Ricky.< |
