In 1986 Boomtown Rats frontman and Bob Geldof married British TV personality Paula Yates. In 1987 R.E.M. released the album "Document." In 1991 Metallica's self-titled album hit number one on the Billboard album chart. In 1994 Surviving members of Nirvana decided to scrap a live album project containing previously unreleased material. They said going through the tapes was too painful. In 1995 The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum opened in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1997 U2's concert in Dublin was webcast by the Microsoft Network. In 1999 Megadeth released the album "Risk." In 2003 Kid Rock was among the performers at the 100th birthday celebration of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle company in Milwaukee. Poison's instruments and stage equipment were destroyed when their transport trucks caught fire. The band vowed to continue the tour anyway. In 2004 Bassist Carrie Smith announced that she was leaving the Von Bondies after the group's performance in London. The band said they'd tapped Yasmeen Smith to take her place. In 2005 Blondie and members of the Talking Heads were among the performers who took part in a "CBGB Forever" concert in New York's Washington Square Park. U2, The Killers, and Bon Jovi were among the winners at the 2005 World Music Awards. In 2006 Panic! At the Disco took the top prize of Video of the Year for "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards. Other rock winners included Fall Out Boy, The All-American Rejects, Avenged Sevenfold, AFI, and Fort Minor. In 2007 Rob Zombie's remake of the horror classic "Halloween" opened in theaters. In 2008 Fall Out Boy was in Chicago, the All-American Rejects were in New York, Moby was in London, and Boys Like Girls were in Singapore performing post-race shows following the international running event Nike + Human Race. Kid Rock and 3 Doors Down were among those who took part in the 21-hour 43nd annual Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. In 2009 Blink 182 skipped a performance in Saratoga, New York to give band members time to mourn the death of friend DJ AM. New releases included Chevelle's "Sci-Fi Crimes."<
