Sum 41 Singer Ignoring Doctors, Touring With Band
While Sum 41's Deryck Whibley is still recuperating from injuries he suffered in an attack in Japan, the band is going on with their tour of Europe as planned. A posting at the group's website reveals that Whibley has been undergoing physiotherapy and seeing four different doctors each day to try and overcome the two herniated discs -- one in his back and one in his neck -- and two broken ribs he sustained. Doctors suggested that Sum 41 cancel the tour so Whibley could continue his recuperation, but the singer is ignoring the advice and pushing forward. He adds, quote, "I may not be 100 percent, but I will be giving my best." Sum 41 launched the trek with a sold-out show in Lausanne, Switzerland on Tuesday. The band's next show will be in Paris on Thursday. |
