One-Time Depeche Mode Band Mates Working Together Again
Depeche Mode's Martin Gore is working with a former band mate. He's been collaborating with Erasure's Vince Clarke, who was also a founding member of Depeche Mode. Clarke says their sessions have been productive. He recently shared via Twitter that they have a song called "Zaat," which "Slicing Up Eyeballs" reports is meant for the next Erasure album. In addition, Erasure singer Andy Bell, who is currently promoting his solo album, has said that he's been dropping by Gore's studio in Maine for impromptu sessions. There is no firm title or release date for the next Erasure album. Clarke formed Depeche Mode in the late 1970s with Andrew Fletcher, but left following the tour in support of the group's 1981 debut "Speak & Spell." He pursued other projects, including Yaz with Alison Moyet, before forming Erasure with Bell in 1985. Depeche Mode tapped keyboardist Alan Wilder to replace Clarke. The band continued as a trio following Wilder's departure in 1995.
