Red Jumpsuit Apparatus Happy Being Independent
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is following the lead of many other acts and taking a more hands-on approach to their career. The band split from Virgin/EMI earlier in the year and recently self-released the "Hell Or High Water" EP. Singer Ronnie Winter tells Altpress.com, quote, "We just got our first week sales and we did just as well as we did our first week on a major. So what that tells me is that we have our core fanbase that believes in our music and regardless of what some people may or may not think, they're going to support our band." Winter adds that he's thrilled to see that they could come close on their own to what they did with the support of a major label.
Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is currently promoting the single "Choke," and recently shot a horror-themed video for the track. Winter says it's an installment of a three-part video series, which he notes is also something the group couldn't do while on a major label. He adds that filling the gap was a goal, noting, quote, "The first thing we wanted to do was all the things we weren't able to do before." The band has nicknamed the video "The Attack," which will soon be followed by "The Chase" and "The Stand-Off." Red Jumpsuit Apparatus is now looking for a producer to helm their next full-length album. |
